Greenberg Traurig Co-President Hilarie Bass Recognized in Benchmark Litigations Top 250 Women in Litigation for 2013

Hilarie Bass, co-president of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been recognized in Benchmark Litigations Top 250 Women in Litigation in 2013. The annual guide honors 250 female litigators throughout the United States.

According to its website, Benchmark Litigation is considered the definitive guide to Americas leading litigation firms and attorneys and the only publication to focus exclusively on U.S. litigation. The results are obtained during a six-month period when researchers interview litigators and their clients to identify the leading litigators and firms. Researchers examine recent casework handled by law firms and ask litigators to review the work of their peers.

The publication recognized Bass success in serving as Lead Counsel for the Homebuilder Group in the Chinese drywall multidistrict litigation. According to the publications website, peers described Bass as being a “tremendous litigator” and “top of the pack.”

Bass, who recently completed an eight-year term as the Global Chair of Greenberg Traurigs 600-member Litigation Department, serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. During her more than 30-year career, she has successfully represented clients in commercial cases in jury and non-jury trials with millions of dollars at stake. In 2011, she completed her term as Chair of the American Bar Association Litigation Section.

Throughout her career, Bass has been honored with a diverse array of awards and recognitions, including: the University of Miami School of Law “Alumni Achievement” Award (2012); Law360 MVP (2012); South Florida Legal Guide, “South Florida’s Top Lawyers” (2001-2005 and 2010-2013); “C. Bass received a law degree, summa cum laude, in 1981 from the University of Miami School of Law and a bachelors degree, magna cum laude, in 1975 from George Washington University.
